Keeping it Local

Giving Rooted in Real Impact

Stu & Kelly’s connection to Joya is rooted in what they see every day: real impact that is felt across entire families and the broader community.

“We are inspired by so many things Joya does, and all of those are reflected in the results,” Kelly shares. They point first to the smiles, those moments of joy on a child’s face that signal progress, possibility, and hope. Just as powerful are the parents who witness those moments knowing their family will be forever changed. Behind each milestone, Stu and Kelly recognize the therapists and staff who dedicate their careers to changing the lives of our youngest community members. Taken together, they describe it simply as “the miracle that is Joya.”

Stu has watched Joya grow and evolve for more than four decades and believes its future is built on one essential action: introduction. “Once that introduction is made, there is no need to convince people or sell the product,” he says. “Joya is dedicated people doing incredible work making our community better and stronger.” That same invitation is what first intrigued him more than 40 years ago, and he continues to inspire new supporters to become part of the Joya community.

For Kelly, giving to Joya is about fostering continuity and excellence. “I hope our support simply allows the very important work by the team at Joya to continue making a difference in the lives of kiddos and their entire families,” she says. She envisions Joya continuing to be recognized as a center of excellence that draws broad community support, advances education and research, and delivers the highest level of care while removing financial barriers.

Stu and Kelly are intentional about their charitable goals and supporting our community. “It is extremely important to us that our philanthropic support stays local,” they share. They believe Joya represents the very best of the Inland Northwest; an organization that has created “massive impact with limited resources,” returning every gift multifold to the community they are proud to call home.
